Hotel Metropole Suisse - Como

Grand old and quaint hotel with very courteous staff in terms of service, really enjoyed our staying. This room was soundproof and new-fashioned with an incredible view of the lake.

Location, lunches, everything else.

Didn't notice.

Our week-long stay was highlighted by amazing lake views and a vibrant breakfast spread. The staff notably helped us discover local gems, making our experience nice.

Definately not a 4-star hotel, mostly a 3-star. The 1st night we stayed in a room in the first floor. The floor was creaking, the sink was blocked, the furniture was old fashioned. There was noise from the music of the restaurant and the lobby. We asked for another room and we were given a better one on the 5th floor. It was in a better condition than the previous one. Two nights the room was very cold because the heating was turned off. The parking cost was very expensive (15euros/day). The hotel has to be renovated.

Sight-seeing on the lake at Como. Cheap ferries take you to many picturesque towns along the lake.

With a amazing view of Lake Como, this charming old hotel offers a fantastic location. Though the decor is worn and could use some love, the quaint Italian vibe adds character. Be prepared for noise disturbances and minimal amenities, but if you're looking for a base to explore, this could work for you.

Breakfast was enormous, appreciated the position.

The location was perfect, to walk to shops and restaurants, the view was worth every penny, too. Also, the hotel was just a short stroll away from a neoclassical temple. Our superior queen room with a safe box, TV set, and a mini bar fridge was brand-new: D

Great location! Easy ferry access to all locations along Lake Como. Beautiful views of Lake Como. Superior location on Piazza. Lots of activity but not noisy in rooms. Highly recommend balcony with lake views.

We disliked very much the beds....Could use an upgrade!

From the kitchen, the signature dishes were an explosion of flavors-do not miss the warm chocolate cake they served for my mom's birthday, a true delight! Plus, the staff made every effort to ensure we felt at home, especially Lorella who organized our arrival like a pro. The location? You can't beat it-right by the lake and a hop away from great local spots like Ristorante Imbarcadero!

For the price I paid, it was disheartening to find the room so cramped and worn-down. The bathroom felt more like a booth with a cardboard wall. And the breakfast? An Italian fail, with automatic dispensers and zero personal touch. They really need to up their game to match the fine surroundings.
